Lifting equipment management for mines
Created by Mawawa Control and Instrumentation
Every sling, shackle and chain block. Tagged, inspected, traceable.
LiftSafe is a lifting equipment management system created by Mawawa Control and Instrumentation for mines. It replaces paper registers with digital records for tagging, inspections, certificates, and equipment issue and return.
Scan an equipment QR tag to see who has the item, its inspection history, monthly colour code and certificate status. Equipment without a valid certificate cannot be issued.
Why mines need it
Paper registers can't stop a bad sling from going underground.
Certificates go missing
Load test and OEM certificates sit in files and email inboxes. During an audit nobody can find the one that matters.
Expired items still get used
A sling with an expired load test looks the same as a good one. Nothing stops it from being issued.
No one knows who has what
Equipment leaves the store without a record of the person, the time or the condition it came back in.
Monthly inspections are slow to check
Ticked paper checklists have to be collected, read and filed before anyone sees what failed.
What LiftSafe does
One record per item, from tag to scrap.
No valid load test, no issue
LiftSafe refuses to issue any item whose load test certificate is missing or expired, and says why.
Scan to find anything
Stainless steel QR tags on every item. Scan with a phone, tablet or USB scanner to open its full history.
Digital monthly inspections
Pass or fail jobcards linked to the item's OEM and load test certificates, with signatures and dates.
Know who has it
Every issue and return is recorded against the person, with time, signature and condition on return.
Status at a glance
Available, issued and not usable, in clear colours. Click a colour to see exactly which items are in it.
Automatic email reports
Daily, weekly and monthly summaries, plus alerts for failed, overdue and quarantined items, sent to the right people.
Load a whole store in a day
Import your existing register from Excel, or scan tags one after another and register each item in seconds.
Find several items at once
Search by tag, serial number or description. Separate terms with commas to pull up a group of items together.
Ready for the inspector
Print or share jobcards and certificates as PDF. Every change is kept in an audit trail.

How it works on your site
We tag and load your equipment for you.
Our team works alongside your artisans during the monthly inspection, so there is no separate shutdown and no extra paperwork for your people.
Tag
A stainless QR tag is fitted to each item, positioned so it never covers markings, ferrules or splices.
Register
Description, serial number, SWL and location are captured as the tag is scanned.
Link certificates
Load test and OEM certificates are attached to the item they belong to.
Inspect
Monthly inspections are recorded on digital jobcards, pass or fail, with the colour code.
Issue and report
Items are issued and returned by scan, and management gets the reports automatically.
Built for underground
No signal at the face? LiftSafe keeps working.
Records are captured on the device and saved on the spot, with no connection needed. When the team comes back to surface, everything is in the system and on the dashboard.
Laptop or rugged phone charged, backup from the night before on a flash drive.
Each item is tagged, registered and inspected at the workplace. Nothing waits for a network.
An item that fails is marked not usable immediately, so it cannot be issued again.
Counts checked against the day's list, backup taken, reports ready for the foreman and engineer.
For the mine's IT department
Your data stays on your network.
LiftSafe installs on the mine's own server or a dedicated PC. It does not need the internet to run, and it was built with mining IT security reviews in mind.

Questions mines ask us
Frequently asked questions
Do we need internet or Wi-Fi underground?
No. LiftSafe runs on the device and the mine's own server, so equipment can be registered, inspected and issued with no signal. Everything shows on the dashboard as soon as the device is back on surface.
Where is our data stored, and who owns it?
On the mine's own server or a dedicated PC on the mine's network. The data belongs to the mine. Nothing has to be sent to an outside cloud service.
What kind of tags do you use?
Stainless steel tags with a laser-engraved QR code and the tag number printed beside it. They are fixed with coated stainless cable ties, so they survive mud, water and handling underground.
What happens if a tag gets damaged?
The tag number is engraved next to the QR code, so it can be typed in instead of scanned. A replacement tag is then linked to the same item, and its full history stays intact.
Do our artisans have to change how they inspect?
No. LiftSafe uses the mine's own checklists and monthly colour codes. The artisan ticks the same checks on a phone or laptop instead of on paper.
How long does it take to set up?
We tag and load equipment during your normal monthly inspection. A team can register a few hundred items a day, and an existing Excel register can be imported in minutes.
What equipment can be tracked?
Any lifting equipment with a serial number or asset number: shackles, wire rope and chain slings, webbing slings, chain blocks, lever hoists, beams and clamps.
